Frank Sarris Public Library Offers Activities for All Ages
Have you heard? When it comes to activities at your local library, more than Storytime is being offered - much more!
It's February now, Summer Reading Program planning has been taken care of (yes, that is done months in advance) and the calendar is filling with a variety of options for a wide range of ages. Here's just a small sample of what is coming to a library near you...The Frank Sarris Public Library, that is!
Children in 1st-5th grades interested in art can register to receive eight weeks of instruction beginning at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 19th.
The one-time fee of $5 covers the cost of all materials. If you are interested in art but don't quite fit into that age bracket, there's no need to feel left out...A class for adults and 11th and 12th grade students will be offered on Saturdays, with the first class scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at 11am.

If you can't commit to an eight week long class, your "artsy side" has other options! Scrapbooking is being offered (to adults and 11th and 12th grade students)—the session runs for eight weeks, but you can simply come when you're able.
It begins Monday, March 19th at 6:15 and supplies are included for the one time fee of just $5. There's also jewelry Making (for Grades 10 - 12), a one-time event to be held on Monday, March 12th from 3:30 to 5:00. Girls—come in for your chance to make a pair of crystal earrings. Boys—why not make a pair for your mom or girlfriend?

There are tech-related programs coming, too...For the young'uns, we'll offer DS Link-Up on Monday, March 5th (4:30 - 5:30). This is a chance for children in 4th through 6th grades to bring their DS and games and link-up with an old friend or someone new. No DS? No problem! Join us for a game of Wii, instead.
If you're struggling a bit with technology, be sure to mark your calendar for Saturday, March 17th. That day, from 11am to 1pm, the library will offer Tech Help, so bring your questions and whatever device is giving you a problem and a high school student will help you with it!
Note: High school students...if you need volunteer hours for your college or National Honor Society application, this is your chance - volunteer to come help an adult with tech questions!
High school students are welcome to come in for fun stuff, too, not just to "work." Among their options are the Just Dance Contest (Feb. 27th at 3:30) and the 11-week long YuGiOh & Manga program (Thursdays at 3:30, beginning February 23). here's no fee to participate in either of these programs, but pre-registration is appreciated.
For a complete listing of upcoming library programs and events, please be sure to check out the calendar on at the library's website...and don't forget to pre-register!
