Paying It Forward...Library Style
You give, and the Frank Sarris Public Library gives back! Not only are there many ways for you to support your library, there are a great number of ways in which your library benefits you.

If you read the article found here on the Patch a few days ago (""), you have been reminded of ways that you can give to your library and perhaps even learned of ones that hadn't occurred to you. The support of the community is vital to such organizations, of course, but had you realized that the relationship is a two-way street? For instance:
A staff member who routinely provides outreach services will be taking a little something extra with her—Valentine's Day "cards" made by some of our youngest patrons. Themed coloring pages have been available in the children's department since the beginning of the month, and already we have had nearly three dozen works of art donated to help brighten the days of area nursing home residents.
Later this month, Lynn Hagan from Employment Plus will be making a return visit to the library, and this time she'll be offering a free workshop. If you're looking for work or are thinking about making a change, this will be your chance to get some great tips for resume writing, preparing for an interview, using internet search engines and more.

Throughout the months of February and March, we will be acting as a collection point for the Greater Washington County Food Bank, gathering non-perishable food and grocery products to help them serve those in need through a network of 36 local food pantries.
Of course, these are just a few of the ways that the Frank Sarris Public Library gives back to the people who so generously support it. If you'd like to get an estimate of the library's value to you as an individual, you can use this calculator to determine your annual savings.
