Today's Tarot - 3 of Cups - all raised to CVMS Orchestra and Barrage

I really like it here in Scott Township.

Growing up in a small town in WV...I mean a REALLY small town, not Weirton or something...I love the diversity and fun we have here compared to other places. Last night was one of those opportunities. Sunday night we watched the Chartiers Valley Middle School Orchestra play a song onstage with Barrage. How cool is that? What an amazing experience for the kids to have, to play on stage with the pros. Thank many times over to Mrs. Kandrak, all the Boosters, faculty, school...every single person who made the night possible.

The rest of the Barrage show was every bit what it promised to be. "High Octane" is a great way to describe it...energetic, exuberant, and entertaining start to finish.

Working with intuition and holistic health, it is hard not to put the evening in terms like energy and resonance. The feeling in the room was happy, even joyous.

On a personal level, the experience resonated with some of the cards I've been writing about lately. Foremost was the 3 of cups.  The Barrage show features violins, which is a very all-encompassing instrument when you think about it. It is integral to both classical and country music. It connects the opera house to the chuck wagon campfire. Add their high-powered contemporary arragements, and you connect past to present. Add the world music influences like the African, Irish, and Chinese folk tunes they incorporated and the human connection widens.

Humans have always celebrated and expressed life through art: music, dance, words, pictures...arts of all kinds. It is the most human thing we can do. What other creature on this planet has come up with this kind of thing? Even in the very worst situations, the human spirit finds some spark in the darkness, whether it is grafitti in a ghetto, a harmonica in a foxhole, a guitar around a campfire, or the symphony...the human spark is there, even in an ordinary school auditorium. Especially when that audtorium is just sparkling with children, music, and those who support and nurture both.

That is the best of the "merriment" that the 3 of cups symbolizes.
