It's Monday, it's April, and snow is expected...does it get any better than this?
Folks at the Frank Sarris Public Library have found cause to celebrate, and what fun is it to "party" alone? In case you didn't know, April 23 is believed to be William Shakespeare's birthday (as well as the date of his death), and if you visit the library this week, you'll find a sampling of the works of the Bard of Avon as well as several movies based on those well-known pieces.
Be sure to come in to check out the display—and the materials!

If the Bard's birthday isn't reason enough to celebrate, April 23 is also World Book Night.
In case you missed the write up in the USA Today, let me tell you what this means: Today and throughout the rest of the week, 25,000 volunteers across the country will be giving away 500,000 new paperback books.

The American Library Association is one of many sponsors for the event and your library, of course, shares the belief that the joy of reading is meant to be spread. This week, we'll be doing our own version of the give-away, working to "get good books in the hands of people who are underserved because of income or location or other reasons," as WBN's director Carl Lennertz says.
A library, giving away books and not expecting their return?
Today, to quote Shakespeare, it is not an improbable fiction.
