Words of Thanks to Some Special Donors

Come for the opening reception on February 9th (4:30 - 7:30) to admire the jungle mural made possibly by local artist Lindsay Wright and Printscape Imaging and Graphics.

As you may have seen in the Jan. 30  here, the Frank Sarris Public Library has scheduled an opening reception for the jungle mural located at the entrance to the children's department.

What you may not realize, though, is that this mural was something of a team effort...there's more to it than an artist and her talent.

You'd have to look closely to realize that the mural wasn't painted on, as one might expect. Instead, the graphics were printed onto 3M Wall Material from the files provided by the artist—Lindsay Wright—allowing the work to be completed much more efficiently. By using this technique, a mural such as this can be printed and installed in a day rather than being painted by hand in weeks or months.

In the case of the jungle mural, this was made possible by Printscape Imaging and Graphics, a company with a local connection and experience with mural type printing work (some of which can be found at the Consol Arena, Heinz History Center, the Carnegie Science Center and several other public venues).

President and CEO John Dziak says, "Printscape was proud to offer the mural as a donation to the community.  Although the donation was small in comparison to the scale of the beautiful Frank Sarris library, we wanted to do our part."

In short, we'd like to thank  Lindsay Wright and the good folks at Printscape for donating their talent, time, and materials.
