Budget Calls for More Than $725K in Road Construction

If approved next month, North Strabane Township's budget would also call for $125K in road maintenance work.

is poised to spend more than $727,000 on road construction and another $125,000 on road maintenance

Construction projects would include widening, paving and striping of Chubbic Road. Other paving projects would include Maple Street, Bennington Street, Garden Street, Alexander Avenue, Lakewood Drive, Woodward Drive, Amber Woods Drive and Hahn Road.

The total costs for those projects is about $727,000, and would be paid for through the general, highway aid and capital reserve funds, township officials said.

Maintenance projects would include shoulder stabilization, drainage improvements and seal coating on Lindley Road, Fulton Road, Walker Road, Gilkeson Road, Green Valley Road, Acme Road, North Spring Valley Road and all alleys in Strabane.

The total cost of those projects is expected to be about $125,000, according to the township.

The North Strabane Board of Supervisors is expected to formally adopt the 2012 budget at next month's meeting.
