Washington Financial recently awarded 10 scholarships to help local students offset the costs of higher education—and one of them went to a recent graduate.
Casey Alexa Peel, who received the scholarship, is actively involved in Adaptive Sports, where she logged 300 hours volunteering for sporting events, dances and other events for individuals who are physically or mentally challenged. She plans to study International Leadership at Marietta College.
“It is an honor to receive this scholarship, not only as a means of financial aid, but as an investment in furthering my education so I can contribute to my community,” Peel said.
Since the inception of this program, Washington Financial has awarded more than $425,000 in scholarships to local students.
