Canon-Mac Student's Artwork Featured in Calendar

Marissa Theodore's artwork is featured in the state Attorney General's drug-free themed calendar for 2012.

Congratulations to Marissa Theodore, a fifth-grade student at , who won the state Attorney General’s drug-free calendar contest.

Fifth-grade students at Cecil Intermediate School designed artwork with a drug-free theme for this year’s contest—and Theodore’s work was selected and sent for judging at a state-wide level.

In mid-Novemeber, she was notified that she had been selected to have her design in the 2012 state Attorney General’s drug-free themed calendar.

Theodore and her family traveled to Harrisburg for a special awards ceremony hosted by Attorney General Linda Kelly.

Theodore won a $200 savings bond and bragging rights: Her artwork will be displayed throughout schools and state buildings across the Commonwealth.

The Canon-McMillan School Board on Monday also recognized Theodore, with Substitute Superintendent Michael Daniel calling her work impressive.
