Canon-McMillan Buys $90K in New Textbooks

The literature books that are being replaced are more than 20 years old.

When seventh- and eight-grade students return to school at Canon-McMillan in the fall, they will be learning from new English textbooks.

School directors on Monday unanimously approved the purchase of the new text books, titled "Literature Common Core Edition" and "Elements of Language, First Course" for seventh-graders, and "Literature Common Core Edition" for eight-graders.

The administration indicated the cost of the books—400 of each—was about $90,000.
