Canon-McMillan: 'Handful' of Football Players Prohibited From Playing Friday
Substitute Superintendent Michael Daniels confirmed that as many as eight students have been barred from the homecoming game after an incident over the weekend.

A "handful" of football players have been barred from playing in Friday's homecoming game after being cited for underage drinking this past weekend, substitute Superintendent Michael Daniels confirmed Tuesday morning.
Those players, he said, have also been prohibited from practice. The citations also could affect students on the homecoming court.
The Observer-Reporter indicated that North Strabane police cited numerous juveniles after officers were called to the home of William Haney, of 60 Long Drive.

And Daniels wanted to be clear: "According to police, no school district employee sponsored or facilitated the weekend event."
