Canon-McMillan Moves Up in PBT Rankings

The school moved up two spots over last year to be ranked number 22 regionally. It was ranked 79th in the entire state.

The Pittsburgh Business Times released its school district rankings for the Pittsburgh area and for the entire state of Pennsylvania on Friday—with placing in the top 25 regionally.

Canon-McMillan ranked 22 out of 105 school districts in the seven-county region around Pittsburgh. Last year, it was ranked 24th.

In the entire state, Canon-McMillan ranked 79th—up from 99th in the state last year.

The newspaper analyzed all the school districts' performances based on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment Exam results. The formula for this ranking takes into account three years of PSSA test scores in math, reading, writing and science, according to the newspaper.
