According to the criminal complaint, Det. Al Coghill arranged the buy, which took place in the parking lot of the West Pike Street grocery store.

ā€œDiTullio drove with Kristina Metz as the passenger and parked in view at the Shop ā€˜n Save parking lot. (The confidential informant) walked over to DiTullio, stayed a minute, walked away and gave a pre-arranged signal that he/she completed the drug deal,ā€ the criminal complaint stated. ā€œThree additional people were also viewed coming to the car, staying a short time and leaving the parking lot. This officer knows from experience that this is indicative of drug activity.ā€

After the last of the subsequent three people left, the couple drove out of the parking lot, where Canonsburg police conducted a traffic stop.

That’s when Metz ā€œsurrendered a quantity of suspected crack cocaine she had hidden in her right bra.ā€ A small amount of marijuana was also found in her purse, court documents indicate.

ā€œMetz subsequently stated that the drug transaction was initiated when DiTullio received a phone call and approached her telling her they could make some money off a $200 deal,ā€ court documents indicate.
