Canonsburg-Area Teen in Jail for Kidnapping
A 17-year-old boy is in jail on a felony counts of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping for ransom and other charges.

A Canonsburg-area teen is in Washington County jail on charges he kidnapped someone with the intent to "inflict injury or terror."
Online court records show the teen boy was also charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping for ransom, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and aggravated assaultāall felony counts.
It was unclear Saturday what prompted the charges, which stemmed from a Nov. 12 incident, court records indicate.

The teen was arraigned Friday before and remanded to the Washington County Jail on $50,000 straight bond, where he remained Saturday. He is scheduled to appear before Weller at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday for his preliminary hearing.
South Strabane police filed the charges, but officers did not immediately return messages seeking more information Saturday night.
