Canonsburg Man Killed in Car Accident

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said Eric Michael Carder was ejected from his vehicle, and that speed may have been a factor in the accident.

A Canonsburg man was killed Saturday in a one-vehicle accident in Independence Township, and Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said speed could have been a factor in the crash.

Eric Michael Carder, 38, of Blaine Avenue in Canonsburg, was driving east on state Route 844 in Independence Township when he came through a left bend, crossed the center line and struck a hillside in the left-hand lane.

According to a statement issued by Warco, Carder's vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof in the east-bound lane.

Carder, the release indicated, was ejected from the vehicle.

Warco and state police are investigating.
