Canonsburg Police Charge Man After Alleged Altercation

A Washington man was jailed Sunday on charges of simple assault, harassment and possession of a controlled substance.

said Robert B. Doty, 26, of Washington, was charged after an alleged altercation with a woman in her Valley View Terrace apartment.

Officers were summoned by a neighbor, and police said they found Doty in possession of four unknown pills when he was arrested.

Doty was arraigned Sunday before district and remanded to the Washington County Jail after being unable to post a $5,000 straight bond.

He was still listed as an inmate there as of Monday morning.

Doty is scheduled to appear before Mark at 11 a.m. Dec. 28 for his preliminary hearing.
