UPDATED: Cecil Commits to Five-Year Road Improvement Program
The supervisors also voted this week to devote its local share allocations and any money gleaned from a local impact fee to a capital improvement fund specifically for road improvements.

The crowd of people attending 's most recent meeting burst into applause after supervisors voted not only to establish a five-year road improvement program—but to also earmark the municipality's local share allocations and any money from a local impact fee to fund it.
Supervisor Elizabeth Cowden pushed for the motion, which passed 3-2. Supervisors Andy Schrader and Frank Ludwin cast the no votes.

The board then authorized its engineer to bid its projects for 2012—work the township manager said is expected to cost about $440,000.

- Papp Road from Cecil Hendersonville to Klinger, a span of about .65 miles in length, will undergo base repairs and a double-seal coat.
- Papp Road from Klinger to Burnside Road, a span that is about 1.13 miles long will also get a makeover. "This section of roadway is in very poor condition consisting of dead asphalt and the cross section of the roadway has been lost," read a document provided by township Manager Don Gennuso. About 500 square yards of base repairs will be made. Other base repairs will be completed by the township's public works department to prepare for future work there. In addition, the stretch will be repaved.
- Lexington and Concord in the Georgetown Estates development will undergo milling and resurfacing, as well.
That work will be completed by the end of the year, the township engineer said.
