Cecil Police Investigating Burglaries

Police said the incidents could be related.

are investigating a pair of burglaries that happened around the same time in the same area of the township this past weekend.

"We are investigating to see if they are related," police Lt. Shawn Bukovinsky said early Monday morning.

He said William Sekel, of 63 Grange Road, told police that someone had forced entry into his garage sometime between 5 p.m. Saturday and 7:20 a.m., stealing two welding machine copper lines, heavy-duty jumper cables, copper spooling and extension cords.

Bukovinsky said police also heard from Robert Mikulski, of 27 Glass Hill Road on Sunday. He said someone broke into his garage and stole a dozen extension cords and copper spooling.

Police also received a report of a possible attempted burglary at 2194 Reissing Road. Owner Ericka Omatick told officers a lock was cut off her barn door, but that nothing was stolen.

Police ask anyone with information on the incidents to call the department at 724-743-0940. Bukovinsky said tips can be made anonymously.
