Cecil Police: Lock Your Car Doors

The department cautions residents to keep their car doors locked after a rash of vehicle break-ins this past weekend.

Police said there have been several reports of thefts this past weekend of wallets and purses that were left in unlocked vehicles in Georgetown Estates.

"They are going after the fast stuff—cash," Det. Mark Marcucci said Monday morning.

He also said that a vehicle parked off the Montour Trail with a purse in plain view was broken into on Sunday.

So that said, Marcucci wants to remind residents again: Lock your car doors, and please keep valuables out of plain view of passersby.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call police at 724-743-0940. Residents may also submit an anonymous tip through the department's website here.
