Cecil Road Restricted to One Lane

A slide caused the closure of Hahn Road last week—and it remains restricted to one lane.

Hahn Road in is now restricted to one lane while the township seeks a contractor to complete retoration work in the wake of a landslide there.

That landslide caused the complete closure of the roadway on March 29, township Manager Don Gennuso told supervisors during their regular meeting Monday.

The township was able to remove some of the loose debris after a geotechnical engineer told officials it would be safe to reopen one lane. That lane was cleared and reopened to traffic Tuesday.

However, the engineer said that the hillside needs stabilized to prevent another slide.

Gennuso said that while a timetable for the complete reopening of the road is uncertain, but added he hopes to secure a contractor to remove debris and stabilize the hillside there "ASAP."

The price of the work is not expected to exceed $8,000.

Gennuso also advised supervisors on Monday that Galati Road will be closed for about three weeks while MarkWest works on a rail line spur in the area.
