Cecil Township Supervisors Ratify Budget

The spending plan includes no tax increase.

supervisors on Thursday morning ratified its $5.54 million spending plan for 2012—one that includes no tax increase.

The tax rate stays at 14 mills, which means that a resident whose home is assessed at $50,000 would pay $700 in taxes next year.

"We've maintained a tight ship here," township Manager Don Gennuso has said. "We do conservative budgeting."

Gennuso said public safety and the road department composed the largest expenditures for the township, and that two new police vehicles were budgeted for 2012.
