Wish there was a free educational program for your 3, 4, or 5 year old? Then look no further than .
The early childhood education classes there will host a free program in September for youngsters. It is run by a certified teacher with a degree in developmental psychology, while the activities offered are planned by the high school students enrolled in the class.
“The program focuses on the importance of play as a key way that young children learn,” early childhood development high school teacher Debby Krebs said in a letter to parents. “Kindergarten readiness is a goal for our older children.”

Krebs said the children would see three sets of high school students during the program—students she said “really enjoy working with and teaching the preschool children.”
Each day students will have circle time and participate in an art project, a larger motor activity, story time and a small lesson. Snack time is also built into the day.

Why sign your child up?
“One of the great things about this program is the one-on-one attention that we can offer to the children if they need extra help,” Krebs said in the letter.
And there’s more.
“Usually during the first few days children will form attachments to a few high school students in each period,” she wrote. “This is wonderful for shyer children because they can always have a gentle teacher next to them. I have many wonderful students (who) really enjoy helping the shy and quiet child come out of her shell.”
