Coaches vs. Cancer at Canonburg Middle School

Here's why you should donate.

is holding a Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser daily through Dec. 16.

Middle School coaches Anthony Dominic and Vince Faith, in conjunction with the CMS Student Council and its sponsor Adam Manion, organized a competition between the homerooms to see who can raise the most money to help fight cancer.

Homerooms will be collecting donations with the top four eighth-grade homerooms and top four seventh-grade homerooms earning spots in the Winter Classic CMS Basketball Tournament. Also, student council is selling candy canes with a portion of each purchase being donated to the cancer fund.

The fundraiser will end with the annual Winter Classic Basketball Tournament and the Students vs. Faculty game on Dec. 22.

Coaches vs. Cancer is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer.

The program leverages the personal experiences, community leadership and professional excellence of basketball coaches nationwide to increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living through year-round awareness efforts, fundraising activities and advocacy programs.
