Council Rejects Landlord-Tenant Ordinance
The ordinance would have legalized a one-time inspection fee of $20 for landlords.

With a 6-3 vote, Council on Monday ended two years of wrangling over charging landlords an inspection fee to ensure the safety of renters within the borough.
Voting against the advertisement of the proposed ordinance—which would have legalized a one-time $20 fee for borough inspections of rental properties—were Council members Joe Graff, Joe McGarry, Pat Romano, Fran Coleman, Tim Bilsky and Mont Miller.
Council President John Bevec and Councilmen Rich Russo and Paul Sharkady voted for the measure, borough Manager Terry Hazlett confirmed.
