Election 2012: Brandon Neuman Seeks Second Term
Here's what you need to know about state Rep. Brandon Neuman before you head to the polls.

is hoping to secure the Democratic nomination for the 48th legislative district in Tuesday's primary and then get elected to his second term in November.
He is running unopposed on the Democratic ticket. No Republicans are running for the seat in the primary, meaning that he'll face no opposition in the general election.

Educational Background: I am a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond. I have a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh and I earned my law degree from Duquesne University.
Professional Experience: I was a full-time attorney for a law firm before I was elected.
What do you feel where your major accomplishments in your first term? I was able to be very accessible to my constituents in my district. I focused on local jobs. I held the first-ever Youth Jobs Forum that is being used as a model in other districts. In Harrisburg, I was able to get an passed in the House. I also focused on issues that are relevant to Washington County, like reforming reassessment.
Why are you running for re-election? There are a lot of issues that have not been resolved. I want to continue to focus on our local economy and make sure we are educating our youth with a purpose. It is important that our students are prepared for a global market. I will continue to focus on jobs in our local economy.
What do you feel are the premier legislative issues in your district? There are many premier legislative issues, but I will focus on four main topics: 1. Promoting policies that will provide our students with a top-tier education. 2. Supporting ideas that will make our economy strong. 3. Promoting the creation of local jobs. 4. Supporting legislation that promotes responsible extraction and use of domestic energy.
If re-elected, what would your legislative priorities include? My priorities will be making sure children are receiving a great education. It is also important that children and seniors are safe in the community. I will contuinue to focus on our local job force and making sure my constituents are aware of job opportunities in the area.
Is there anything else you think voters should know going into the primary? I want voters to vote for me because of my commitment to our community. I believe it is very important that I remain as accessible as possible to my constituents and learn about concerns in the area.
