What do you feel where your major accomplishments in your first three terms? I try to focus on local issues when possible, because I believe it is a good way to get things actually accomplished without getting stuck in the sluggish process of lawmaking in Harrisburg. I have always focused on giving real help to real people, and demonstrate through my actions that government isn't always the four-letter word people think it sometimes is.
Why are you running for re-election? I feel like I have a much better understanding of how to get things done in Harrisburg, but more importantly, I truly love public service and representing the people of my district.
What do you feel are the premier legislative issues in your district? Two issues centered in the middle of the 46th District have leapt to the forefront of statewide debate. The first is property tax reassessment reform, which has been a primary focus of mine for three years now. We have made substantial progress in educating the public, and clarifying the issues of what reassessment is, what it isn't, and why it is important. The second issue of course is Marcellus Shale, and the debate on how to properly develop natural gas and domestic energy "the right way." that stripped away local zoning control, which has become a major issue not just statewide, but nationwide. It has been an amazing experience to represent this district at this incredibly important and active time.
If re-elected, what would your legislative priorities include? I will continue my non-stop work on the reassessment reform and Marcellus Shale issues, plus continue working to reform municipal authorities and some other issues on the horizon dealing with social media privacy that are just starting to come to the forefront.
Is there anything else you think voters should know going into the primary? I believe the best way to stay connected to my constituents is to keep the lines of communication constantly open, and I am a strong advocate for using social media to communicate directly with my constituents. I would encourage any of my constituents to follow me on Facebook here.
