Employee Shot at South Fayette Gun Shop
Police are searching the area for the shooting suspect.

Police are searching for an armed man who shot an employee at a South Fayette Township gun shop this morning.
South Fayette police said an employee was shot at at 5035 Thoms Run Road not long after the gun shop opened at 10 a.m. The road was shut down while officers from South Fayette and Allegheny County Homicide investigated the shooting.
Police described the shooter as a white man in his mid-50s with gray hair and a goatee. Police said the man left the area in a tan Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight with square tail lights.

The employee was taken to an area hospital, although there was no immediate word on victim's condition.
Both South Fayette and Chartiers Valley high schools were locked down briefly as a precautionary measure for faculty and staff inside. However, students were not in either building because the school year is over for both districts.
