Engine Fire Extinguished Before Mass

quickly extinguished a fire that started in the engine of a vehicle parked in the Holy Rosary Church parking lot just before Mass Saturday afternoon.

While there were other cars nearby, the blaze was restricted to only the one vehicle.

"A quick response from the Engine 29 Crew prevented this engine compartment fire from spreading to the vehicles nearby," Safety Officer Paul "Smitty" Smith said.
