Five Things You Need to Know This Week

Canonsburg Council, Cecil Township Supervisors and Canon-McMillan school directors all meet this week.

Here's what's happening:

1. Canonsburg Council will hold its voting meeting at 7 p.m. tonight. The meeting will be held in council chambers in the borough building. Visit the borough website here to view the agenda (scroll down).

2. Canon-McMillan School Board will hold its agenda meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the district administrative building. While an agenda was not immediately available Monday morning, board President Debbie Link said on Friday that more information would be given about the .

3. Cecil Township supervisors will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. tonight in the municipal building related to Marcellus Shale drilling operations. The hearing has been continued three times.

4. The ground breaking and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Frank Sarris Public library will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the new multi-million facility located at 35 North Jefferson Ave. More details can be found here.

5. St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg will hold its Summer Festival Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The festival will feature mascots from the Pittsburgh Pirates and Wild Things, rides, food, games and more.

At this year's festival, guest will have a chance to win up to $8,000. Tickets are available at the Rectory between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday and at the Grand Raffle Booth at the Festival. More information can be found here.
