Five Things You Need To Know This Week
From a public hearing in Cecil Township to an agenda meeting in North Strabane, here's what's going on this week.

Here's what's going on in Canon-McMillan Patch this week:
1. The Cecil Township Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. today regarding a conditional-use ordinance governing Marcellus Shale drilling. Those operations are now a permitted use. The hearing has been continued several times as supervisors mull language and conditions to be included in the pending ordinance.
2. North Strabane Township Board of Supervisors will hold its nonlegislative meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The agenda for Tuesday's meeting had not been posted as of Monday morning, but can generally be found here.

3. The district community will celebrate the academic excellence of Canonsburg Middle School on Wednesday, which was named as one of 100 Schools to Watch in the United States. A ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the middle school auditorium to accept the honor for the first time in the district’s history.
4. Canon-McMillan High School will hold its scholarship banquet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe.

5. Farm Heritage Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the SpringHouse Farm. There will be food, music, demonstration artisans and much more! Participants may register to win gift certificates, chocolate milk, ice cream cones and meals from the SpringHouse.
