Free Fishing on Memorial Day

State Rep. Brandon Neuman, D-Canonsburg, reminds residents about the opportunity.

State Rep. Brandon Neuman wanted to remind local folks that the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is offering Fish for Free Days on Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Fish for Free Days allow anyone (state resident or not) to fish legally for Pennsylvania's most popular fish without a license.

"This is a great opportunity to head outdoors on Memorial Day and Labor Day and enjoy Pennsylvania fishing with family and friends," Neuman said.

The commission is also hosting events at six Pennsylvania lakes on Monday that include exhibits, fishing instruction and tips, free publications and a chance to literally catch a million-dollar fish.

The Wanna Go Fishing for Millions contest will be held in conjunction with Fish for Free Days at Lake Wallenpaupack, Lake Nockamixon, Foster Joseph Sayers Lake, Raystown Lake, Presque Isle Bay and Emsworth Pool— all of which have been stocked with tagged fish that carry a prize.
