Motorist Killed in I-79 Crash
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco is withholding the name pending notification of next of kin.
A motorist was killed Thursday afternoon after a crash on Interstate 79 in North Strabane Township.
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said the motorist, who was not named pending notification of next of kin, was driving southbound on I-79 when the vehicle hit a guard rail.
The vehicle, a Lincoln sedan, crossed the southbound lanes, went into the median and then crossed back over the southbound lanes, where it came to rest around 11:10 a.m.

The motorist was pronounced dead at the scene around noon Thursday.
A press release issued by Warco indicated the cause and manner of death were pending the results of an autopsy.

North Strabane Fire Department and Canonsburg Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene, and state police are investigating, according to the release.
