Stopperich, Brooks Sworn in at North Strabane Meeting

North Strabane Township reorganized Tuesday night—with Steve Motzer voted in as chairman.

The Board of Supervisors reorganized on Tuesday—with Steve Motzer voted in as chairman and Jeff Stanley as vice chairman.

Newly elected Supervisor Sonia Stopperich and Supervisor Bill Brooks, , were both sworn in by district Supervisor Brian Spicer, who was elected in November, had been sworn in earlier.

  • Retained Keranko & Jefferies as its solicitor
  • Retained Gateway Engineers as its engineer
  • Appointed Rob Balogh to a four-year term on the planning commission
  • Appointed Katie Stayduhap to a one-year term on the planning commission
  • Appointed Katherine Ciotti to a five-year term on the municipal authority
  • Appointed Craig Reisz to a one-year term on the municipal authority
  • Appointed Pat Boyer to a five-year term on the zoning board
  • Appointed John Lieberman to a five-year term on the code board of appeals
  • Appointed Kim Clark to a five-year term on the parks and recreation board
  • Appointed Stewart White to a one-year term on the vacancy board
  • Appointed Balogh to a one-year term as emergency management coordinator
  • The board also voted to keep its meeting schedule the same: Convening on the third and fourth Tuesdays for its nonlegislative and legislative meetings, respectively (except in April, when meetings will be held on the 10th and 17th; and December, when meetings will be held on the 11th and the 18th).
