Muse House Fire Under Investigation; Victim Treated and Released
A state fire marshal is investigating the house fire on Beech Street Tuesday.

Muse Volunteer Fire Lt. Matt Egizio said a fire that started in the upstairs of one side of the duplex on Beech Street Tuesday is under investigation by the state fire marshal.
Cecil Township police said initial reports indicate it was likely accidental in nature.
The home is owned by August Passieu III, and that part of the duplex was being rented by Patricia Hammerāwho suffered burns during the fire.

Hammer was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital, where a spokewoman said Wednesday that she was treated and released.
Police said Hammer, her two children and a family friend were inside the house when the fire began.

Egizio said it was uncertain how much the damages were in the blazeābut added there was "severe" fire damage upstairs, while the lower floor sustained minor smoke and water damage.
Crews from Muse, Cecil, Canonsburg and Houston battled the fire, which was reported early Tuesday afternoon.
