Here's what you missed:
1. The board is expected to take action on three contracts Monday—one regarding copiers and the other two regarding student transportation. The board is expected to approve two contracts with GG&C Bus Co. for transportation of students to the Western PA School for the Blind and DePaul School for Hearing & Speech. The cost associated with the contracts is $215 a day and $154 a day, respectively.

2. The board will recognize Andrew Sontag, a junior at , who will be receiving his Eagle Scout Award at an Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony on Dec. 3.
3. Athletic Director Guy Montecalvo recommended that the board retire a football jersey—number 86—in honor of Jeff Macerelli, who died in 2006. He told the board that his family had approached the district about the matter.

4. Board members were treated to a presentation from high school faculty regarding Advanced Placement testing and results. The district offers students 17 AP courses, and in 2011, three-fourths of the students who took the associated exam scored high enough to receive college credit. Six district teachers had 100 percent of their students receive the highest score possible on the test. Two other teachers had 90 percent of their students receive the highest score possible on the test.
5. Director of Special Education Betsy Somerville gave a presentation about the new Academic Center at the high school. She said since its inception, more than 1,700 students have visited the venue, which aims to "provide a support center for all students."
