How about a demonstration of the "jaws of life?"
Firefighters will be demonstrating how to use that equipment, as well as other rescue tools during the event, which kicks off Fire Prevention Week.

And firefighters want you to know: The whole family is welcome.
Among the activities for the kids will be a Junior Firefighter Agility test, where youngsters as young as 5 can run a course that department members are required to complete each year.
That test will allow children to spray water out of the fire hose, carry EMT bags and drag a dummy across a finish line—all simulating efforts firefighters make on daily calls.
Refreshments will be served.
