North Strabane Refinaces Bond With $646K in Savings Expected

North Strabane authorized the refinancing of one of its bonds Tuesday—and the municipality was touted for its financial rating.

Bond counsel for told supervisors that when it comes to finances, the community should be very proud of its administration.

"You are one of a handful even nationwide at this level," he told the board Tuesday when speaking about the township's bond rating.

The compliment came moments after supervisors voted to refinance its 2008 bond series, a move that is expected to save about $646,000 and decrease the municipality's annual debt payments.
