North Strabane Welcomes New Fireman
James Barco was hired as a full-time firefighter Tuesday.

Township supervisors on Tuesday hired a full-time firefighter to fill a vacancy within the .
The board voted 4-0 to hire James Barco of Homestead. He has 10 years of experience as a volunteer fireman there.
Barco's first day was Wednesday.

He was hired at an hourly rate of $17.50, and will be subject to a six-month probation period.
"Welcome aboard," North Strabane Township board Chairman Steve Motzer said with a smile moments after Barco was hired.
