Notice the Newest Addition to Canonsburg's Borough Building?

Canonsburg officials said they hope this new electronic sign will help them reach out to even more residents to keep them informed about borough happenings.

Terry Hazlett said that even though officials post information on the community website, circulate a newsletter and include upcoming events and other need-to-know tidbits on its phone greeting—the borough manager said it’s still tough to reach everybody.

“There’s no one medium that reaches all people,” he said.

Enter the borough building’s newest edition—an electronic sign that was erected last week on the lawn off East Pike Street that will be used to share police and fire alerts, as well as information on borough meetings and events.

"That will hopefully help," Hazlett said.

The sign, Hazlett said, cost about $26,000 and is being paid for as a part of the recently approved borough renovation project—one that is being funded through a matching state grant.
