Parks and Rec Director: Pavilions Will Go Fast

Greg Sulc said if you want to rent one of the township's pavilions this year, be prepared to get up early and get in line.

Greg Sulc wants you to know: If you want to get your hands on one of the township’s pavilions, you better be prepared to get up early.

“The line will probably start at 6 a.m.,” the parks and recreation director said.

And he’s making a prediction—that rental space for the township’s six pavilions will sell out the first day they are available to residents (which is 8 a.m. Feb. 4).

After all, he’s already received more than 40 phone calls inquiring about them.

“People have been waiting for two years for this township to open up its park,” Sulc said of the facilities. “It’s the talk of the town.”

Thanks to a multi-million dollar expansion, Municipal Park now boasts three large and three medium pavilions—one that even features a full kitchen.

Sulc also wants to remind residents of two changes this year.

For one, the park and pavilions will have new hours. While in previous years, the facilities closed at dark, this year they will remain open until 11 p.m.

Also new to the pavilion offerings? Alcohol will now be permitted at the large pavilions—with a $200 deposit and a separate permit required.

Sound good? Then remember: Signups for pavilion use begin at 8 a.m. Feb. 4. For more information, call Sulc at 724-745-8880.
