Police: Dean Out of Town When 'Underage Drinking Party' Busted
North Strabane police said an anonymous tip led them to the party on Long Drive Saturday night.

said an anonymous tip on Saturday was taking placeābut said he was neither home at the time nor aware of the incident until contacted by the department.
"The officers found numerous juveniles inside and outside the residence. It was obvious that there was alcohol being possessed and consumed by these juveniles," police said in a release. "The home is owned by William Haney and his wife, who were not home at the time."
Haney is a teacher at . He also serves as the high school's dean of students.

"They were out of the state and unaware of the situation until contacted by police," the release continued. "They advised police that they had left their sonsāage(s) 17 and 22āhome alone while they were gone."
Police said there numerous citations issued, and parents of those involved were contacted and "arrived at the residence to pick up their sons or daughters."

The citations were filed with district Judge Jay Weller.
Reached Tuesday, Canon-McMillan substitute Superintendent Michael McDaniel confirmed that a "handful" of football players have been prohibited from playing in Friday's homecoming game as a result of the incident Saturday.
