REMINDER: 'Tags' Come Off for Pennsylvania Hunters
State Rep. Brandon Neuman has this message for hunters.

Hunters and trappers in Canonsburg, Cecil, North Strabane, and beyond remember: The state no longer requires you to display your hunting license on an outer garment. However: You must still must have your license in your possession—as well as a secondary form of identification, such as a driver’s license.
Pennsylvania’s electronic license sale system, which provides much smaller licenses than those issued before 2009, makes the need for licenses to be displayed antiquated. Now while hunting, hunters and trappers can simply carry their license in their pocket or wallet, along with the required secondary form of identification.
In the past six years alone, hunters in Pennsylvania have lost more than 50,000 licenses at a cost of $300,000, mainly due to the display requirement. The new law will save hunters hassle and money. New York and Wisconsin are the only two remaining states that require hunters to wear “back tags.”
More information on hunting, trapping and game management in Pennsylvania is available at the Game Commission website.
