Spotlight: Why I Love Town Park
Meghan Kessler, a pupil at First Street Elementary, was a first-place winner in the Why I Love Town Park essay contest.

Editor's Note: Each day, Canon-McMillan Patch will feature one of the winning entries in the essay contest sponsored by Canonsburg's Parks and Recreation Board. This is the third. Enjoy!
New slide is awesome!
There are so many reasons to love Canonsburg Town Park—the great playgrounds, picnic areas, 4th of July celebration, and my favorite, the pool!
Me and my friends have the best time jumping off the diving boards and eating ice cream and french fries at the snack bar. I also think that the new slide is awesome!
The pool is so big that you never feel crowded, even when there are tons of people on a hot summer day! My brothers like to play miniature golf with my dad, and my mom likes to sit in a chair and read her books. I also love coming to the pool for the great birthday parties. It is nice that you can have a private party at night!
I was thinking that it would be so nice if there was a great big cover you could maybe put over the pool for the fall and winter and we could swim all year! I am always so sad after Labor Day when the pool closes. But then school starts and I get to see my friends in school every day just like I did during my summer vacation with them at the Town Park pool!
Thank you Canonsburg for giving us a safe place to play and enjoy in the Town Park!
