Mayor David H. Rhome said everyone but the suspect is out of the First Street home.

Canonsburg Mayor David H. Rhome said Wednesday afternoon that police and a hostage negotiator are at the scene of a First Street home where a standoff is taking place.

He said a woman who lives in the house was safely extracted, but that her son remains inside with unknown weapons. No one else is believed to be inside the home, he said.

Rhome said details were still emerging as police and fire officials blocked off portions of First Street and also Hooks Lane, near where the standoff is taking place.
