'Steel City Harmonizers,' Others Added to Birthday Bash

The birthday fun is slated for May 18 and May 19.

More music has been added to an upcoming celebration honoring one of Canonsburg's native sons.

The "Steel City Harmonizers," "Tones Of Fun," "The Sounds of Pittsburgh" chorus and  "Emeritus" will be performing at the celebrating Perry Como's 100th birthday in downtown May 18 and 19.

As Perry Como was known as the singing barber, it's appropriate to have some  barbershop harmonizing at the festival.

The Harmonizers are 25 men based in Forest Hills. At the 2012 Johnny Appleseed District chorus contest held on April 14, the Harmonizers placed 6th  overall and won their scoring plateau. 

The Tones of Fun include Roger McQuaid, Joe Fricker, Harrison King III and Buzz Miller.

"The Sounds of Pittsburgh" is an all-female group from the Pittsburgh area.
