Stopperich Top Vote Getter in North Strabane
Unofficial election results show that Brian Spicer secured the second seat.

A field of five candidates for supervisor was whittled to two Tuesday night, with newcomber Sonia Stopperich emerging as the top vote-getter.
She announced her victory via Facebook just before 10 p.m., thanking her supporters.
Stopperich, a Republican, received 30.2 percent of the vote, according to unofficial election results through the Washington County Election office.

Second place was more of a close call—with former supervisors chairman Brian Spicer leading with 21.8 percent of the vote. Spicer is a Democrat.
The next-highest vote-getter was Republican James Pierce, who received 20.6 percent of the vote. Supervisor William Brooks, a Democrat, lost his bid for re-election, receiving 20.2 percent of the vote.

Trailing was Independent candidate Neil Kelly with 7.1 percent of the vote.
