Two Injured in Early Morning Crash
Police said alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
Cecil Township police said driving-under-the-influence charges are pending against two people involved in a head-on crash that happened early Friday on state Route 980 near O'Hare Road.
Police said Ross Gallardy of Canonsburg told officers he was traveling south on state Route 980 and coming out of a bend when he saw another car driving in his lane and "swerving out of control."
That vehicle, driven by Samantha Tyler, collided with Gallardy'sāand both cars came to rest in the northbound lane.

Police said Tyler suffered a head injury and was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment. Officers said although alcohol was detected, and Tyler was unable to tell police what direction she had been driving in, that no field sobriety tests could be given because of the injury.
Instead, police requested a legal blood draw from the hospital.

Although officers said Gallardy had no visible injuries from the crash, which occured just before 2 a.m. Friday, that he complained of back pain. He was taken to , where officers also requested a blood draw.
Police said charges are pending the results of those tests.
