Write an Essay, Win a Pool Pass

Canonsburg's Parks and Recreation Board is sponsoring a contest for fourth-grade students.

Parents: Would your son or daughter want to win a free pass for Town Park Pool? It might just take about 750 words.

Canonsburg manager Terry Hazlett said the borough’s parks and recreation board is sponsoring an opportunity for fourth graders in the Canon-McMillan School District and St. Patrick’s School to win a season pool pass by writing an essay titled “Why I Love Town Park.”

Two winners will be chosen at both schools. The first-place and second-place winners will receive season passes. The first-place winners, he said, will also receive gift certificates for the concession stand there.
