• Carmichaels' season ends in familiar fashion (observer-reporter.com) — Carmichaels High School’s softball season ended Monday with a 2-0 road loss to Berlin Brothersvalley in the first round of the PIAA Class A state playoffs. Senior pitcher Bailey Barnyak capped a record-setting career in the defeat, as the Mikes wrapped up a strong 17-6 season that coaches say helped put Carmichaels softball “back on the map.”
