• Carrolltown Man Accused Of Dropping Infant Causing Serious Injuries (lightnercommunications.com) — A Carrolltown man is jailed on felony charges after state police say he dropped an eight-week-old baby on her head, causing severe head trauma and a broken collarbone, and then delayed medical care for weeks. The infant was treated locally at Conemaugh Miners Hospital before being transferred to UPMC Children's in Pittsburgh, and the suspect is held in Cambria County Prison on $200,000 bail.

The 85-year-old Army veteran and avid skeet shooter is survived by his wife and extended family, and memorial donations are suggested to Halifax Hospice in Florida.
