2nd Suspect In Attempted Rape Of Elderly Woman Arrested: Cops

PHILADELPHIA – The second man suspected of breaking into an 82-year-old woman's home and attempting to rape her has been arrested by Philadelphia Police after another suspect was arrested Monday, police said.

Police said Raheem White, 30, of Folcroft, was arrested Wednesday evening.

Police arrested and charged Darius Johnson, 23, of Lansdowne, on Monday in connection with the incident at the victim's home on the 6000 block of Sansom Street in West Philadelphia.

Johnson now faces charges of attempted rape, burglary, robbery, simple assault, risking a catastrophe, conspiracy, and related charges, according to police.

Johnson and White allegedly sexually assaulted the victim and then stole items from her home, police said.

Both were wearing towels over their faces and are believed to have started a fire at the rear of the house in their break-in attempt, police said.
